We had a great Thanksgiving, including spending time exploring fun areas around Chicago.
First though, while Amy was in Rome a couple weeks back, Deb came in and the kids had a blast with Grandma.

When Amy returned, we went to a fun black tie event for Loyola at the Field Museum (no kids with us at this event, just a fun photo to share of us all dressed up)
Amy was on call this weekend, so rather than traveling, we had our own Thanksgiving here at home. Amy planned a wonderful meal.

On Friday, we kicked off the Christmas season with a visit to the Chicago Botanic Gardens, where we visited Wonderland Express, an amazing exhibit of model trains.
The exhibit included models of Chicago landmarks.

On Saturday, we went to the Science and Industry Museum. Luke (left) and Oliver (right):
We were especially interested in the space exhibits.
We learned a little about WWII submarines.
The main reason for the visit was the exhibit of 50 Christmas Trees decorated in themes for countries around the world.
Of course, we can't get enough of model trains. We love the train exhibit, the goes from Chicago to Seattle.
Luke, Oliver and Gloria are big fans of the Swiss ball machine.
After getting inspired by Christmas trees from around the world, we returned home to start setting up our own decorations.
