We just returned from an amazing week of family fun in San Diego.

We enjoyed a nice meal in the Embarcadero area the first night.

We enjoyed a day in Balboa Park, with its many museums and activities.

We took an evening boat ride to Coronado Island.
The next day was the main event -- going to the San Diego Zoo, home of some amazing pandas.
One of two pandas that we got to see (mother and son). We arrived early on a weekday. They were very active and we nearly had them to ourselves. A total treat!

The Zoo really was amazing. Amazing creatures at every turn. Flamingos...

and Koalas -- who were unusually active for us. A real treat.

We went for an incredible hike on our last evening in Torrey Pines State Park, and we were joined by our amazing friend Nicole who drove down from L.A. So fun!

We got back Saturday, and decided we didn't want vacation to end. So, we decided to enjoy the good weather in Chicago and went to a Sox game today.
