Mid Fall 2018

Fall fun has continued!

We lucked out with a week-long visit from Dira!  How luck are we!  We headed straight to Chicago's Devon neighborhood, with the best Indian food and fun in the entire Midwest!

Watching Indian breads and sweets be made.

How many types of dal are there!?!

I got to meet up with my sister for lunch downtown.

We also got to go to a cool West Side restaurant!  Cool kids!

"Can we keep Dira here?" We all said.

Thanks for the visit, Dira!  Come back soon!

Our own Amy won a wonderful award from the Stritch Medical School -- the Fr. Jack MacCarthy Service Award for contributions to service and global medicine!  We are all so proud!

Amy won the award along with one of her dear mentors, Dr. Bading.

The award is named for one of Amy's favorite mentors, who in fact presented the award!  Amy met Fr. Jack in Peru as a student while working with people living in remote areas.  What a great honor!  Yea Amy!

We made a trip back to Blair Farms this past weekend to celebrate the marriage of Amy's cousin Marybeth.  While at the farm, we got to enjoy lots of fun cousin time with the Blairs from Baltimore.

Fun with the Blair boys!

We were on our best church behavior during the wedding.

The bride and groom rode to the reception in Great Grandpa Clydes Green Queen!  Now that is style!  Gloria and Luke in front of it, outside the church.

Amy and Joe enjoying the reception.
Gloria with Grandma and Grandpa all fancy at the reception.

Back on the farm the next day, we enjoyed watching as harvest was in full swing.  Luke and Amy hauling grain.

Harvest is fun!

What a super fun birthday!

The fun continued with a family dinner at Gloria's favorite, Lou Malnati's.

Fun times opening presents.

We enjoyed our block's annual block party -- blocked off street for bicycle riding and live music with a bounce house!  Fun!

We've also been busy with soccer.  Gloria's first year in U8 level soccer.

Go Purple Tornadoes!

The boys too have been busy with soccer.  Luke and Oliver.
