Good Times in June and July 2019

We continued an epic summer of fun with a literal showstopper: Hamilton!

Part of our goal of making this a summer remember was for the family to see this incredible musical together.

We prepared by reading a number of books to learn about the life of Hamilton. Oliver above.

We also played the sound track on repeat in the weeks leading up to it. We could almost sing along!

Theater just doesn't get better than this.  The show was all we dreamed it would be and much more!

Hamilton!  Luke above.

The boys spent two weeks this summer on Blair Farms, contributing big time to making this truly an epic summer.  Above, the boys testing rockets.

Fun with rockets with Grandpa Blair and Uncle Marc.

Gator rides.

We enjoyed a great Fourth of July lunch hosted by Aunt Jessie and Uncle Marc.  A perfect day.

Oliver and Gloria.

Luke.

Amy, Aunt Jessie and the kids enjoyed a great bike ride.

Lots of fun going fishing at George's Pond.

Truly special fireworks in Stockton.

An early birthday party!

Three Birthday Boys.

Happy Birthday, guys!

Thanks Grandma Blair for making the boys' time so fun!

Always an amazing time on the farm.

Another birthday celebration bonus:  an afternoon Cubs game.

Oliver.

This outing involved Dad playing a little hooky from work!  A win all around!

Cubs win!

Happy 10th Birthday, Luke and Oliver!

One of the best summer camps this summer was Gloria's two weeks with Oak Park's Ovation program, preparing and putting on an amazing production of Lion King, Jr.

Gloria was cast as an antelope.

She was amazing!

A star is born!

Gloria, the Star Girl!

We enjoyed a fun Saturday in the city, checking out Millennium Park.

and Maggie Daley too.

We even caught a concert at Pritzker Pavillion, where you can bring your own picnic.  Dvorak was playing!

We met up with good friends there visiting from New Jersey.

We also caught another free live concert, this time in Oak Park at Scoville Park -- just a fun family bike ride away! A great time!

Luke and Oliver had a great experience with band their first year and we decided to invest in new instruments to take their playing to the next level.
