We enjoyed a wonderful 10 days in Oregon for our summer family vacation this year. Our love of the West Coast teamed up with the fun of seeing family and friends, enjoying new foods, seeing mountains, volcanoes, the ocean, volcanic lakes and more!

First stop: Portland. The famous Powell Books did not disappoint.

We took a ride on Portland's Aerial Tram, with a great view of the city.
A real highlight was getting to see our Moore cousins!
Our meet up was in Grant Park, which features a sculpture garden celebrating the characters of the books of Beverly Cleary -- one of our most favorite authors -- who was from Portland and set her characters on nearby Klickitat Street.

We left Portland after a few days and headed east to the Columbia River Gorge and hiked up Multnomah Falls.
It was quite a hike!

We then headed to nearby Hood River and watched the locals kite surfing.

We stayed at a great place right along the Columbia River and enjoyed an amazing sunset.
