The second half of our trip was in the eastern part of Puerto Rico. We focused here on rest and relaxation and added in a couple fun nearby excursions.
We spent most of a morning at El Yunque National Forest, the only tropical rainforest in North America and just 20 minutes from our hotel. A real wonder, full of great hiking paths and waterfalls!

El Yunque had an amazing hike that included walking along a river with three waterfalls, which we could swim in.
A steep hike to an amazing treat.

After a big day of adventure, we enjoyed some delicious traditional Puerto Rican food.
Amy arranged for us to do a super fun excursion off the east coast of Puerto Rico.
It involved a fun 1 hour organized boat ride to an island off of Puerto Rico, called Culebra. It is a sparsely populated island that is home to amazing coral reefs and pristine beaches.
Incredible conditions for snorkeling.
The organized trip also included a fun lunch while we cruised over to our second stop -- Flamenco Beach, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We certainly would not disagree!

Incredibly, it was once used by the US military for bomb training. A reminder of that remains on the far end of the beach.
Cheers to a great excursion!
After dinner back at the hotel, we found some fun music being performed in the lobby, and these four got right to dancing.
For our last full day in Puerto Rico, the goal was to relax and enjoy. We swam in the pools and enjoyed fun diversions at the hotel.
