For part 2 of our Spring Break, we drove from San Francisco to Yosemite.
Oliver.
We were lucky because it had snowed the week before in Yosemite. We arrived to temperatures in the 60s.
Oliver, though he rallied as much as possible, had to sit out our first afternoon in Yosemite due to, we think, a bad burger at In N Out the day before.
The rest of us enjoyed a nice introductory tour of Yosemite Valley by bus. Luke at El Capitan.
Because of the snow falls the week before and the above average temperature when we were there, the waterfalls were especially wonderful.
These two!
Luke and Chad.
Our tour took us to an amazing view point: Tunnel View.
We reunited with Oliver after his recovery nap. He's back in full action!
Getting ready for a great family photo...
Bingo!
Incredible that even in the middle of Yosemite we could enjoy delicious pizza.
A great way to end a first fun day at Yosemite.
This one was always the early riser -- no surprise!
Amy planned a great hike for us for our first full day.
We climbed so high we got to snow!
Oliver.
Look who packed lunch for us!
Overlooking Vernal Falls
We then made it close to the top of Nevada Falls.
Luke and Gloria.
For our hike down, we realized plenty of folks were taking the closed for winter trails, since the weather was so nice. It allowed us to see a lot of new beautiful things along the water.
A steep decline!
Worth it for these views!
Waterfall and Rainbows! Wow!
After a spectacular day of hiking -- with unbelievable sights -- we enjoyed a fancy dinner at the fancy restaurant in the park. A day to celebrate!
Unbelievable that we can have Starbucks at Yosemite!
With Oliver back in action after missing our first view of Tunnel View, we returned and got the photo we were hoping for.
Our adventure today was to see the Sequoias of Yosemite.
Great spot for a lunch break.
After a great morning at the Sequoia area, we returned to Yosemite Valley and did more hiking.
One last pose before our flight the next day.
What a great spring break!
